Dear Lindley

We are now about to make our last move before reaching the front. We are just waiting for the start to the point where we report for transportation to our new Battalion the 29th - Thank goodness at his hour 8 p.m. it is much cooler though any exertion makes one sweat. Capt. McKenzie, Joe & I are the little group of 88th officers though there are many others from other units - We shall have many weary hours & probably days before we get to the front ending I expect with a considerable march from railhead - We leave behind here Gray, Morkill & Day & Major Pym in hospital at Havre - The draft of men leaving at the same time have just been attending a service conducted by a very fine padre Capt Earp.
