Dearest Mother: –

I seems ages since I have written a letter and I'm sure it must be nearly a month since I have written you. We are on a special job and living in the awful waste of the recent battle-area. We are seldom long in one place and have been working like fiends. But now the weather is dud and I at last find the opportunity of writing.
