Dearest Mother: —
Well, here we are, settled in our new quarters and busy as can be, strafing the dirty Hun – or, as the French say "le sal Bosche". Since we came here there have been two mails and out of the lot there were three letters and an old "Victoria Times" from you. The letters are nos. 30, 31 & 32. I am not surprised that my letters took a long time to reach you, but they really took longer than probable. I am so glad, too, that your drafts are going through regularly.
