I know how to take care of myself and others whether attacking or manoeuvring for an attacking position. If I am not in too much of a hurry to get away from France I think it possible that I may earn promotion to the rank of captain, but am not counting a great deal on it.

So you are reading "An Airman's Outings". I hope you will like it. It is well written and a is a good account of a squadron's birth, growth, and work in France. I do not know anything of Major Gen. Brancker, but know of both the author and the squadron which he numbers "Umpty". The author is at present a prisoner as a result of a forced landing in Turkish territory in Palestine.
