CANADA City of Victoria Province of British Columbia The EXAMINATION of W.R Hough of Victoria aforesaid, taken on this 1st day of April,in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and eighty one, at Victoria in the Province aforesaid before the undersigned one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Province, in the presence and hearing of Ah Jim alias No. 6 who is this day charged before me.This deponent W.R Hough upon his oath deposeth, saith as follows: In consequence of information received I proceeded to Cormorant Street yesterday . I found Mr Shakespeare upstairs at a house in said street, there was a great number of Chinamen upstairs & downstairs
