Depositions of Witnesses CANADA City of Victoria Province of British Columbia
The EXAMINATION of L P Lewis of the said City of Victoria in the said Province of British Columbia taken on this thirty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty one at Victoria in the Province aforesaid before the undersigned one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said province in the presence and hearing of Ah Jim alias [?] who is this day charged before me  This deponent L P Lewis upon his oath deposeth saith as follows: about 9 or half past 9 o'clock this [?] Mr Shakespeare and myself went up to [?] some goods and chattels at a chinaman's house situate on Cormurant Street . After the goods were [?] we were about to remove them Ah Jim with other chinamen interfered with Mr Shakespeare (in the discharge of his duty) by trying to wrench the bundles out of my hand and also [?]
