British Traditions Upheld

Army Council's Thanks to N. Russian Troops.

The following special Order of the Day has been issued:

On the completion of the evacuation of the Allied Forces from North Russia, the Army Council desire to convey to all ranks who have participated in the operations in this theatre an expression of their admiration of the manner in which they have maintained the traditions of the British Army under the most difficult and trying conditions.

The Council desire especially to express their hearty thanks to all ranks of the relief forces and their appreciation of the skill, courage, discipline, and powers of endurance which alone rendered it possible to carry out the difficult military operation of withdrawal with practically no loss of life and in such a manner as to leave the Russian troops in a favourable position to continue a resolute defence.
