to see how he was getting on and I found that he was missing, and on looking round I found that he had taken some Files. I then came down and reported to Mr. Todd after which myself and several other officers started out in search of him, but could not find him. He had an Iron on him at the time of his escape: I am a constable and also a constable at the time of his escape.
This deposition was translated to the prisoner by Ah Sin, Interpreter
