beautiful sea side place with miles and miles of beaches called PARIS-PLAGE about four miles from ETAPLES. In ? camp over night. Eight of us slept in tents.

June 8th. Left ETAPLES at 7:23 am and arrived in FREVENT at 11:50 a.m. Good lunch there. Saw Webb and Capt Thomas in his car and he very kindly brought me back to DUISANS. I reported to the D.A.D.L. VI Corps. Was informed that Colonel Cliffe of the 40th ? H,Q. wishes to see me. I saw him and he has placed me in command of the 154 ? Coy.

June 9th Awaiting orders from Col. Cliffe. Most intense bombardment on.

June 10th Sunday. Very close weather. At night severe thunderstorms and very heavy rain.

June 11th. Wrote Paymaster about Coy polls. Very close. Fair bombardment on.
