Oct 4th/17 Vancouver Dear Mother: I thought perhaps I had better write for a change. Vernon and Bert will be here today with the 68th Battery Ellen arrived Saturday and I met her with the car. Much to Ellies joy, she certainly is some child. I got a letter from Price a little while ago and am answering it.
