After lunch we walked into ARRAS & on our way we saw scores & scores of dead houses, etc. I do not believe there is a single house but what has had a portion of shell or shrapnel. The City is blown to bits. At one time a magnificent place, now ruins & a disgrace to ? Drew 1650 francs for Coy pay from Field Cashier.
