Vancouver, namely a trawler, which had been sold by a Hull firm to somebody in Vancouver, it was only for the "run out", but as she wouldn't be ready to leave for another two months, I would scarcely wait, her name was the "Outward Ho" a little bit of a thing about 100 feet long, it will take her about 3 months to go out, through the Straits of Magellan, (Cape Horn) I waited 3 weeks for her in case she would be ready, but then they found they would have to make some other extensive alteration, which would mean another 7 or 8 weeks, so gave it up as a bad job, it seemed worth while taking it on £50 for the run & £35 to find your way home again, if you wanted to come home again, that is. I think if once I get out there I shall remain on the coast, it ought to be pretty good out there.
Now I must stop, I started this the other day & am now finishing it just before getting to Port Said. Will write you again at our next stop, if not before leaving here.
Best of love & wishes dear old girl Yours as always Maitland
