It was fortunate the weather was so favourable for him. We had very heavy rain this morning here. I was awakened this a.m. by loud peals of thunder, the rain followed in torrents. I wonder if you had the same in Victoria, if you did I expect the "blues" will be thinking of packing up their belongings for the winter. I haven't applied for leave yet but will make an attempt shortly, in the meantime we are kept pretty busy with drill & parades etc. I forgot to order any "booze" when I was down, I think it would be a wise plan if you would please order from the
