I am enclosing a snapshot which was taken at Westminster (?) the morning the 47th left for Vernon, I fully intended sending this before leaving but they were not finished till the day before leaving.

Well, here (?) are in Sherncliffe(?) and have settled down to work in real earnest, we are attached to the 30th Battalion (Victoria) and are all reinforcements to the 9th and 16th B.C. Batttalions which are now at the front. It does not look as if I would get to the front for some little time as they are making us all take a (?) of courses at the different military colleges. I expect to go to

My dearest Dodie,

I am enclosing a snapshot which was taken at Westminster the morning the 47th left for Vernon, I fully intended sending this before leaving but they were not finished till the day before leaving.
