May 12th. Raining hard all morning, in afternoon we venture  out and run our line down to Fishers River which we have to cross, it is a wide river and one we won't reach across. So we'll have to fall one on either side and lock them as they fall, it is also swift so if one falls in with a pack on his back, the odds will be greatly against his getting out safely it is a long job falling trees for the bridge so leave it until  after supper.
