This is a real disappointment to us all for we had quite hoped to have seen him this autumn. I am now not thinking of going to Leamington before the middle of next month. We shall have visitors here until then.
Father is well & sends his love. I am glad you have satisfactory news from home & that on the whole you are pleased with the photos sent. I want to send you some books or anything else you would like if you will let me know what will be acceptable. Food I am sorry to say is difficult as we never get more than our bare ration of butter or sugar.
I hope you will long continue at Divl. Hqrs & as a bye-product of your stay teach the peat farmers a little elementary cleanliness!
Ever with love

Con & Cecil look ever so much better for their holiday. They spent a long afternoon here on Monday bringing Hugh Cobb with them which was nice for Wats. He so rarely has a chance of seeing an old London friend & he remained behind after Con & Cecil left & Wats walked back to Caistor with him.
