I really was fed up - & we were quite alarmed about Mother that night - as I never saw her look so ill during a Raid - however we pulled through once again! But the gunnery was very loud. Cy & I were watching it from the front door - of course. "We didn't ought to do it"! & just when I heard an engine coming I suggested going in - Cy says I missed the sight of a battle field all the guns in the neighbourhood opened fire at once & Hazed up - & then we heard two mighty thuds of bombs in the distance.  I fancy they fill in fields & not awfully far from Croydons - so, you see such is life or rather "war".  Tonight the moon is nearly full - so we are all rather putting off going to bed - but are telling each other there has been a wind etc today & clouds & things! Gh pray for non gh weather & moons combined for really it is an experience.  I always affirm that we ought to have dear old Bob to help us through these Raids - only I can't imagine him [illegible] & I expect he'd
